Better to be safe than sorry! Hilarious video captures horse named Cody completely overestimating a small novice fence and jumping HIGH over it
.Four-year-old horse approaches fence at speed and quickly applies brakes
.It then considers other ways around the jump and attempts to step over it
.Eventually it straightens up and athletically propels itself high into the air
.It clears the jump by around three feet and lands heavily on the other side
A hesitant horse has become an internet sensation after a hilarious video of it overestimating a jump went viral on Facebook.
The video, which features a slightly nervous horse named Cody, has been viewed over one and a half million times since being posted to the internet by owner Amanda Braun.
In the 11-second clip, which was filmed in Virginia, America, the horse is filmed confidently approaching a novice fence while being ridden by a woman named Rose.
According to Amanda, a lady name Kate Chadderton was overseeing the lesson and guiding both the four-year-old horse and its rider through the challenge.
After its assertive start, the horse is videoed quickly coming to a halt in front of the small ditch – it stops itself before doing a little jump.
The movement unsettles Rose slightly but she manages to regain control of the horse and subsequently calms it down.
The horse then sets about looking for a way beyond the fence and rather humorously considers a few options.
It moves backwards slightly at first and then reaches out with its leg and hits the wooden rim of the ditch with its hoof.
It then lifts its leg out in front of it as if it is considering stepping over the hole in the ground before straightening up and finally deciding what it is it has to do.
The horse then lifts its front two legs into the air and rather athletically propels itself forward and over the fence.
It jumps over the hole and rather hilariously, and completely unnecessarily, clears the ground with its front legs by around three feet.
The video then concludes with the horse landing heavily on the other side and the rider struggling to hold on.
Writing alongside the original upload of the video on her Facebook page, Amanda said: ‘This is what he thought of the ditch! Kudos to Rose for sticking it.’
